Utah’s Department of Commerce flips the switch on SB 73 age-verification enforcement today. Any site carrying a substantial amount of material harmful to minors must check ages for users actually located in the state. Fines hit $2,500 per violation (and $5,000 for ignoring orders). A 2% excise tax on Utah-sourced adult sales already sits on the books since October 1. A federal judge previously blocked the “actually located even behind a VPN” clause, so the proxy crackdown stays on ice pending more legislative cleanup. Platforms that geo-blocked Utah IPs are still on the hook for the rest of the rules. Source
Four days left before England and Wales criminalize possession or publication of realistic porn that shows non-fatal strangulation/suffocation, penetrative sex between people a reasonable viewer would think are related (including certain step and foster), or adults role-playing as under-16. Publication can mean up to five years; possession of the under-16 material up to three and the other categories up to two. FSC’s Alison Boden called the rules draconian, vague, and a precedent that hits consensual adult content instead of actual harm. Ofcom guidance is still expected; until then the advice is talk to UK counsel and scrub libraries. Source
Lovense dropped the Distance Index 2026, the first usage-based white paper on remote intimacy. Between October 2025 and September 2026 the Remote app logged 5.036 million anonymized sessions averaging 20.4 minutes each—more than 100 million minutes total. Couples peaked between 10 and 11 p.m., came back for a second round on 37.8% of connection days, and ran 49% more sessions on Valentine’s Day than a normal weekday (though those sessions were shorter). Eleven of the top 20 routes crossed borders. Long-distance toy control is no longer a niche. Source

OnlyFans still permits AI-generated content that clearly features the verified creator and carries a clear label such as #ai. Fansly continues to ban photorealistic or lifelike AI content (including face swaps) even when labeled; non-photorealistic virtual creators can apply. Both platforms keep the 80/20 split. The content-rule split is the clearest platform difference right now for creators testing synthetic or enhanced material. Source
