Pornhub is pushing creators to upload safe-for-work clips and the numbers are loud. Podcast traffic jumped 328 percent, gaming 283 percent, and music 62 percent in the last year-in-review; searches for “SFW” itself rose 114 percent. The tube says SFW uploads can still surface in regions where adult video is geoblocked, funnel viewers to paid fan sites, and give older non-explicit material a second life with ad revenue. Alex Kekesi called the platform a “cultural access point” where creators can monetize the full range of what they make. Whether the algorithm actually rewards the non-horny stuff is the open question, but the restricted-market workaround is real. Source

Free Speech Coalition dropped member guidance on the UK laws that take effect next week. Starting November 6 in England and Wales it becomes a criminal offense to possess or publish realistic porn that shows non-fatal strangulation or suffocation, penetrative sex between people a reasonable viewer would think are related (including certain step and foster), or adults role-playing as under 16. Publication can hit five years; possession of the under-16 material up to three and the other categories up to two. FSC’s Alison Boden called the rules draconian, vague, and a precedent that hits consensual adult content. They urge creators and platforms to talk to UK counsel and scrub libraries before the date. GO.cam rolled out smartphone NFC age verification that reads the chip in electronic passports and NFC-enabled IDs from more than 150 countries. The user scans the document with their phone; processing stays on-device, personal data is deleted after the check, and the site only receives a yes/no on age under a double-anonymity setup. Facial comparison confirms the person holding the phone matches the chip photo. It’s free for operators and designed as a privacy-forward alternative to photo-ID uploads or facial estimation alone. Creator platforms still collecting full scans should watch whether this model spreads. Source
